Florida law does not mandate state teaching certification for private school teachers. Educators are considered qualified if they hold a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study, have at least three years of teaching experience in a public or private school, or possess special skills, knowledge, or expertise relevant to the subject area they teach (Florida Statutes §1002.421).
